Before you go

  • Visa: Thai passport holders need a US B1/B2 visa in advance
  • Flights: no non-stop from Thailand; about 17–20 hours with a connection
  • Age: 21+ to be on the gaming floor or watch at tables

Strip zones

  • South Strip: MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, New York-New York — near the airport
  • Center Strip: Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Cosmopolitan, Paris — the busiest stretch
  • North Strip: The Venetian, Wynn, Resorts World, Fontainebleau — newer and more upscale
  • Downtown (Fremont Street): vintage casinos, an LED canopy and lower table minimums

Free sights

  • The Fountains of Bellagio
  • The Bellagio Conservatory
  • The Venetian's canals and Caesars' Forum Shops
  • The Fremont Street Experience light show
  • The Sphere changing its display at night

Hidden costs

  • Resort fees: most hotels add a nightly fee on top of the room rate
  • Parking: many resorts charge
  • Tips: $1–2 per drink for cocktail servers, dealers when you win, 18–20% at restaurants

Tips

  • Join MGM Rewards or Caesars Rewards — valid across each group's resorts
  • Low-minimum tables are easier to find downtown or on weekday afternoons
  • Summer desert heat is intense — drink plenty of water
