Meet Kangwon Land
Kangwon Land sits in Jeongseon County, Gangwon Province, among the mountains of eastern South Korea. It's the only casino in the country that Korean citizens may enter; the other 16-plus casinos are for foreigners only.
The resort is more than a casino: there are hotels, a water park, a golf course and the High1 ski resort, so it works in every season.
Getting There From Seoul
- Bus: Direct buses from Seoul take about 3–3.5 hours.
- Train + taxi: Take the train to Gohan or Sabuk station, then a taxi or resort shuttle.
- Rental car: The most flexible if you want to explore nearby towns too.
Know Before You Go
- You must be 19 or older under Korean law — bring your passport.
- Foreigners have a separate area and counters, usually quieter than the main floor.
- Weekends get very busy; go on a weekday if you can.
Evening Activities

In the early evening a free fountain and light show plays outside the resort, and in winter you can night-ski at High1.
